This was the declaration of Ericsson, the market leader in 2G and 3G mobile technologies, which has announced that it will provide its mobile broadband modules to the upcoming LG laptops and netbooks. The new portable computers will be available on the market this quarter with wireless connectivity based on HSPA comparable with DSL speeds.

Ericsson’s modules based on HSPA double the system capacity, shortening the response time for interactive services, leading to 20 times faster downloads with GSM/GPRS. In the near future, the same technology will be enhanced and the speeds will reach 42Mbps in downlink and 12Mbps in uplink.
