Good Gaming Laptops

With the advancement in today's technology, gaming laptops are just as good as gaming desktop computers. Some probably look like a fool bringing in big bulky machines when going to a LAN party when you can just bring in a small portable laptop. Laptop manufactures are able to make gaming laptops powerful, if not more powerful than regular desktop gaming computers in a smaller size. Gaming Laptops' performance benchmarks are on the rise as the technology advances. However, when it comes to upgrading, gaming desktop computers still have an advantage.

Check Your Graphics Card

Integrated graphics, can't keep up with the gaming of today's hot new games. High-end gaming laptops with have a few graphics cards that can be linked together by Scaleable Link Interface or Crossfire technology to bring you the best graphics performance. Make sure your graphics cards have powerful GPUs as this is the most important component in your gaming laptop.

CPU

Its important to get at least a dual core CPU of some sort. With I gaming laptop I wouldn't be surprised if they overclocked it for better performance. Some gaming laptops even quad core CPUs for even better performance. Every task that you do, the speed is dependent on the processor, so if you are looking for faster game loading times, get the fastest CPU your budget can fit.

Hard Drives

Solid State Drives would probably be the best option for a gaming laptop. They are the fastest available and more reliable than typical hard drives which have moving parts. You need a good display on your laptop if you want a true gaming laptop.

WUXGA is a resolution of 1920x1200 which is great for gaming and not too hard to come by. You should get this on at least 17” display or visually everything will look tiny. With a high resolution monitor you also need a very good graphics card that can keep up at that resolution. Make sure your graphics card(s) have dedicated memory rather than shared memory or that will have an effect on your gaming performance.
