The chart shows that Sony VAIO N Series laptop in its basic configuration offers the best value for the money today. Best Laptop for College - Sony VAIO Laptop
Priced at $899 (VGN-N320E/W) and equipped with Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.6 GHz processor, all necessary ports and, in addition, with the ExpressCard that enables laptop to connect to even more external devices, Sony N series is the best laptop for college today for the lowest price.
Sure you can buy cheaper Dell or Compaq for around $499 with an instant rebate today ... but these lowest-end models are not nearly equipped with the features and performance. College students often find themselves in the environment where they have to use many different connectivity options and be able to work fast while having multiple applications running simultaneiously. The best laptop should also be designed from a sturdy material to take any college abuse and should last through at least 4 years without repairs - repairing or exchanging your laptop while away from home on campus is often a tough task. Sony brand fits perfectly to all these requirements, Sony Vaio N fits well for a college student budget. And it's good looking too ;). See all specs or buy it at Sony.

Gaming Laptop Deal
If you are searching for gaming laptop deals you’re at the right place, this blog is dedicated to the best notebook deals on the internet, and we give you the hottest links on the right sidebar to these deals updated every day. When searching for a laptop intended for hardcore gamers, it is very important to keep 3 things in mind in today’s day and age. First and foremost, you want a kick ass graphics card to deliver when you are in the middle of a serious gaming adventure! Second, you need memory and lots of RAM to keep your gaming as lag free as possible! And third, the CPU - it has to be powerful as the latest new games coming out require a lot of juice to run smoothly. Any online gamer knows that lag is killer, and any delay from your computer can cause serious weaknesses in your game. There are a lot of deals out there by DELL, ALIENWARE, TOSHIBA so you might want to look around and find a system whose design you really like and favor. I personally have a laptop with an Intel Quad Core Q8200 CPU, 2GB of DDR RAM Memory, and 1GB GEFORCE 9600GT video card. Lest not forget, aside getting a gaming laptop deal we need to hook up a not too shabby internet connection too, to minimize those ping times and get the maximum out of our gaming!Good Gaming Laptops
With the advancement in today's technology, gaming laptops are just as good as gaming desktop computers. Some probably look like a fool bringing in big bulky machines when going to a LAN party when you can just bring in a small portable laptop. Laptop manufactures are able to make gaming laptops powerful, if not more powerful than regular desktop gaming computers in a smaller size. Gaming Laptops' performance benchmarks are on the rise as the technology advances. However, when it comes to upgrading, gaming desktop computers still have an advantage.
Check Your Graphics CardIntegrated graphics, can't keep up with the gaming of today's hot new games. High-end gaming laptops with have a few graphics cards that can be linked together by Scaleable Link Interface or Crossfire technology to bring you the best graphics performance. Make sure your graphics cards have powerful GPUs as this is the most important component in your gaming laptop.
CPUIts important to get at least a dual core CPU of some sort. With I gaming laptop I wouldn't be surprised if they overclocked it for better performance. Some gaming laptops even quad core CPUs for even better performance. Every task that you do, the speed is dependent on the processor, so if you are looking for faster game loading times, get the fastest CPU your budget can fit.
Hard DrivesSolid State Drives would probably be the best option for a gaming laptop. They are the fastest available and more reliable than typical hard drives which have moving parts. You need a good display on your laptop if you want a true gaming laptop.
WUXGA is a resolution of 1920x1200 which is great for gaming and not too hard to come by. You should get this on at least 17” display or visually everything will look tiny. With a high resolution monitor you also need a very good graphics card that can keep up at that resolution. Make sure your graphics card(s) have dedicated memory rather than shared memory or that will have an effect on your gaming performance.Kamis, 17 Maret 2011
Advantages and Disadvantages of Renting a Laptop
Benefits of Renting a LaptopMany full size laptops are higher than $600 ($300 netbooks are poor for long term and intense office works), and will be out-of-date in just a couple of years after purchase, it means that except if you use the laptop frequently - paying a lot of money for a laptop isn't really advisable. For people who are often use a laptop, owning one is surely a great choice, and you need to be sure that it can give more than your investment.
Even so, renting is certainly beneficial to a good deal of people because they'll only be spending money for using a laptop when they really need it and don't have to worry about inevitable damages in hard drive or LCD screen. If a latest laptop model is released, or a new OS comes out, you may easily choose a rental service that offers the exact model with the right OS.
For example, if you own a Windows XP laptop but you wish to experience a fast Windows 7 laptop cheaply, you may easily get a Core i7 laptop with Windows 7 without spending $2500 or buying the OS. And if the hard drive fails or the screen is dead, you won't be held responsible for the damages as it wasn't your fault, and can get a replacement laptop quickly. Of course, you should be careful not to drop it, spill coffee on the keyboard or lose it.
Rent A Laptop
If you need to rent a laptop temporarily, and obviously you cannot buy one, you can look for a local computer store in your area that provides this service. You can also do it online, and certain sites can send the laptop to your home. If you choose the second option to rent online you should consider some things. First, if these companies include the cost of shipping in your order, especially by the weight of the computer. The shipping cost will depend on how far is this company to your location.
Another important consideration is whether they provide insurance for laptops. Some of these companies will give you the insurance service but with an additional cost. Comet Laptops recommends you take this insurance so you will be relaxed. It’s the best you can do since at the time to rent a laptop, you become responsible for the damage and what happens to it.
Finally when you rent your laptop be sure to check what the specifications are and whether they are Windows 7 or Apple, the last comes with the Mac OSX platform. Check that it comes with at least 2GB of ram and is recommended for using Windows 7 with 4GB ram, especially useful if you do video presentations with it. I hope these tips have served you, and feel free to comment below if you have any questions.
